Jorian can talk about coffee, machine shops, and programming all day long. From crewing a tow boat off the coast of Texas to crawling under a counter at a hipster coffee shop, Jorian Khan has an adaptable skill set.
Between working as a Crew Coordinator for NGL Energy Partners and attending night classes at UHD, Jorian developed a special affinity for coffee. After his soon-to-be father-in-law gave him an espresso machine, Jorian became fascinated by the electrical and mechanical components within. This obsession landed him a full-time job at Stumptown Coffee Roasters in LA as a machine technician. While in LA, he spent his days servicing espresso machines and nights designing, building, and using an espresso machine of his own design.
Now back in Houston, married to his high school sweetheart, Jorian has begun to focus his appetite for coffee and his aptitude for creation. He completed his Associate in engineering science from HCC in the Spring of 2020. Now, he is completing his Bachelors of Mechanical engineering at The University of Texas at Tyler’s HEC.
These days, between studying and buying tools, Jorian’s latest project is redesigning the Ventus, an Italian espresso machine.
He can’t complain about life, as long as his wife and her two cats don’t scratch the furniture, fill the house with fur, or drool on him.
